↳Will this distract my audience?

Yes, but in a good way.

How often do you have a distraction that actually brings back attention to the main topic?
People have different ways to learn, and there are many studies that prove visual communication is the most effective of them.

By adding Visual Notes to your event you'll give your attendees a new layer of meaning, helping them to remain engaged and to retain the information for a longer time.

Learn more about it here.

↳What if my event is online?

Then I will participate digitally (and we get brownie points with Mother Earth).

I connect to your streaming platform remotely, draw live on my tablet, and the audience will be able to watch my screen.
I can also be a fly on the wall and send you the images right af ter the event.

↳Do you also create visual notes for pre-recorded content like podcasts?

I ❤️ podcasts. So yes, I do.
This is a great way to complement and promote your audio-only content to reach your audience in a visual way. It makes social media sharing easier, too.

Pro tip: If you're going to invest in visual notes for your podcast, make sure it's at least for an entire season.
This will increase the expectation from your audience and will result in a better investment.

↳What can I do to best use the images after the event?

The art is yours to share in any way you wish.
For physical media, you keep the artwork and I also send you a digital copy later.
For digital media, I send you the digital artwork.
I can also provide social media ready content based on the artwork, such as Instagram carousels or time-lapse videos.
We’ll discuss your options based on your goals.

↳What's best: digital or traditional Visual Notes?

They both work well! we'll advise you on the best approach based on your goals and type of event.
You don't need to figure this out by yourself. BUT, in case you are curious, here are a few tips:

Digital visual notes (made with an iPad)
1.Can be projected to large screens during the whole event or at specific times.
2.Require little logistics
3.Are good for the environment
4.It's quickly shareable online (if you want to maximize engagement on social media, we can provide them during the event)
5.Ideal for internal meetings in small offices.

Traditional visual notes (with markers and big format canvas)
1.Can be displayed the whole time as an activation for your audience to interact with (ask me about interactive boards).
2.Require shipping logistics
3.The boards are yours to keep AND you'll receive digital versions after the event.
4.Great for unplugged meetings, to help your team engage on screenless formats.
5.Audiences perceive it as a kind of "performance," enhancing the experience of your event.

↳Do you run workshops?

Absolutely! For workshops, I've taught and trained other visual note takers as well as amateurs of all ages and levels of skill. My workshops are highly interactive and hands on.
Current topics are:
• Cultivating Wonder: Three steps to get unstuck and revive the pssion in your life.
• Storydrawing: How to tell powerful stories through simple visuals.
• The business of creativity: How to make money as a creative professional.
• Visual communication for left brainers: How people who "can't even draw a stick figure" use visuals to communicate better.

↳Do you rehearse or need the speech script in advance?

Nope, I really do this all live!
All I need is to know the name/topic of the speech and the speaker to prep, and I need the approximate speech duration so I can pace things properly.

↳¿Hablas español?

¡Sí! Español es mi lengua natal. Nací y crecí en Costa Rica pero vivo en Estados Unidos y soy 100% bilingüe.

↳The topic of my event is heavy and serious. Would your work be appropriate in this context?

Truth is, when the topic is important, the illustrations help people feel heard, seen, and understood. They connect your audience with your message in a deep way.
I am sensitive to tone and I have seen great success with events centered on hard topics.

↳What if I need multiple artists?

That's no problem. I have vetted artists I collaborate with around the world.

↳Where are you based? Would you travel internationally?

I'm based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. And I can travel internationally if that's more convenient for you.
If you are not picky, I collaborate with vetted artists around the world. Some of them I've coached myself, and if they are in your area, I'm happy to send them on my behalf.
My satellite partners currently live in LA, San Diego, Chicago, And I also have multiple partners in France, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and the UK.

↳Do you do brainstorming or strategy sessions?

Absolutely. You’d be amazed by how helpful it can be to see your ideas come to life visually.
If you and your team need a little creative energy to move things along, I’ll come to your office or participate in a Zoom meeting.
It’ll be the most fun you’ve ever had at a meeting!

↳What are your prices? I want to to know what to expect.

Clear expectations are essential. So here's what you can expect: Flat fees that cover everything except logding (travel is included for events booked with 2 months or more in advance).
On the high end, for a more strategic approach for events, it could be up to $50K.
For short sessions, remote sessions, or projects, our minimum level of engagement starts at $3500.
If you are open to discuss your goals and expectations, we can chat and figure out where in the spectrum would make more sense for you.(Book a call here)
Otherwise, I'm happy to refer you to other colleages or resources that may fit better your goals and budget.
